Habitat Management

It is a common belief that land ‘left wild’ is beneficial to wildlife, but this is very often not the case.
‘Re-wilding’ open spaces is fantastic, but most wild habitats need on-going management to maintain their value to wildlife. Without management, habitats often grow towards low quality woodland, or are taken over by invasive species or scrub.

Habitat Creation, Restoration and Management

We create, restore and manage all natural and semi-natural habitats. No matter what their condition, we can guarantee huge improvements in terms of wildlife value and use. We provide expert advice and management plans for habitats, project managing sensitive sites and provide ongoing care for spaces intended for use by wildlife.

We work with your ideas, goals, priorities and budget to find the best outcome for your wild space. Transforming your space into a habitat can include hard landscaping, digger works, seeding, planting and use of natural infrastructure/landscaping features such as wildlife ponds, sleeper steps/beds and natural footpaths, headgerow planting and green living or retaining walls.

Habitats we frequently create, restore or manage include:

Their knowledge and expertise have gradually and sensitively altered this wonderful area for the better. We are very pleased to have been working with Nurture Ecology and to see the return of heather and other desirable plants, and to see wild birds, green lizards and other native wildlife thrive. We have no hesitation in recommending Nurture Ecology to anyone who may need their help in improving the wildlife and beauty of their land.
