Nurture Ecology is a professional ecological consultancy and habitat management company based on island. We undertake a huge variety of habitat management and green infrastructure creation for private and public landowners who want to improve the wildlife and amenity value of their land or building.
Work includes;
· Green infrastructure creation and maintenance (Living Walls, green roofs, wildlife ponds etc)
· Footpath creation and maintenance
· Outdoor carpentry work (infrastructure works such as fencing, decking, making bridges, sleeper steps, beds / walls etc)
· Habitat management including strimming, chain-sawing, mowing etc. in various habitat types.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in landscaping / outdoor / manual work is essential
- Experience with carpentry or site work advantageous
- Candidate must be physically fit & able to carry out heavy manual work
- A keen interest in nature and the environment, and a love of the outdoors
- Able to perform manual labour outdoors all year round in all weather conditions
- A positive ‘Can-do’ and motivated attitude
- Desire to learn about green infrastructure installation
- Ability to speak and understand English
- A full driving Licence
- Local residency (5 Years)
The successful applicant must be positive and outgoing and have a desire to develop. The position is 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The salary bracket is a competitive (£29 - £35k plus vehicle and company perks) and dependent on experience. Training will be provided on the job and extra training programmes both in Jersey and the UK are available to those who wish to further their knowledge.
